NorthWest Arkansas Community College will remain a gun-free zone if the Board of Trustees adopts a resolution set to be presented at the board's meeting Monday.
The resolution is in response to Act 226, approved during this year's legislative session, which allows full-time faculty and staff members with concealed handgun permits to carry their weapons on college campuses in Arkansas. The law also gives each school's governing board the freedom to opt out of the provision. Boards must make those decisions by July 1.
