Northwest Arkansas motorists appear to be sharing the road with fewer intoxicated drivers.
Driving while intoxicated arrests in the area's four largest cities, as well as arrests made by sheriff's deputies in Benton and Washington counties, have been going down over the last five years. A drop in the number of intoxicated people on the road would be an obvious reason, but other circumstances could weigh in, said Ernest Cate, Springdale city attorney.
